I. PREAMBLE
In the face of the multiple changes within the professional world over the past few years through the influence of approaches of holistic thought, new technologies and changed staff requirements a new quality of occupational social work has developed, the basic principles of which have been integrated in this conceptional framework.
This conception constitutes a frame of reference for practising colleagues who on the basis of these outlines wish to develop their professional field (termed e.g. social counselling, drug counselling, social department, social services etc.) according to the requirements and current needs of their respective organization.
It includes the association's official guidelines and professional positions. The concept is intended for companies, authorities and other institutions who already supply occupational social work or wish to do so in the future. It is meant to serve as a basis for developing suitable in-house facilities.
In addition it offers a basis for discussion with staffing experts, employers, employers' associations and unions as well as academic institutes.
